Diet “secret” adds a DECADE to your lifespan?!

If I told you that a simple diet “secret” could add up to ONE DECADE to your lifespan…

Would you follow it?

Well, according to new research out of Norway, making a few key changes to what you put on your plate could do just that.

And the sooner you start, the higher the reward.

Here’s the diet “secret”—and how to take advantage of it.

Ditch the Western diet

According to a team of researchers at the University of Bergen, ditching the Western diet and switching to healthy, balanced options could add more than a decade to one’s life.

In fact, young adults could add up to 13 years to their life expectancy by making just a few simple dietary changes—IF they start implementing those changes by the age of 20.

(Yet another great finding to share with your grandchildren immediately!)

Of course, older adults can gain tremendous health benefits with this “secret”, too…

For adults over the age of 60, healthy dietary choices added eight years to a women’s lifespan and nearly nine years for men.

And at 80-years-old, both men and women gained an extra 3.4 years of life, on average.

To estimate these benefits, researchers created a model using data from the Global Burden of Disease study.

The model found that the biggest overall impact to life expectancy came from eating more plant-based foods (beans/legumes), whole grains, and nuts—and less red and processed meat.

And it might surprise you to hear that I agree with most of these changes, even though I’m a huge advocate for a high-protein diet. The two approaches to healthy eating don’t differ as much as you may think…

For instance, I’m a big proponent of vegetables (plant-based).  If you choose to eat grains, I only ever recommend whole grains. And I agree that processed red meats should be limited, if not eliminated completely.

That said, legumes should be consumed in moderation. And grass-fed and -finished, pastured, organic meat (including red meat) can be enjoyed daily. These meats host HUGE health benefits… and can actually be the healthiest food on your plate.

Fuel your body with the right foods

At the end of the day, this study highlights something I’ve been telling you for years…

It’s never too late to make a change. And that change can be quite simple!

Personally, I like the Mediterranean diet with a ketogenic twist. I’ve been eating this way myself for nearly three decades and I’ve never felt better about how I look or feel.

In fact, I believe in these smart dietary choices so much that I developed The A-List Diet—so that YOU can gain the many health benefits from it, too.

The best part? It’s easy to follow. It focuses on many of the same healthy foods we discussed above—like fresh produce and quality meat. Along with wild-caught seafood, nuts, and more.

These foods provide a vast array of vitamins, polyphenols, and carotenoids, which are all vital for your health and longevity. Who knew indulging in these foods could taste—and FEEL—so good!? (Order yourself a copy of The A-List Diet by clicking here!)

Until next time,
