“Fake sugar’s” LETHAL side effect

The truth is slowly seeping out about artificial sweeteners…

And it’s about time. (If you ask me, these substances should be banned!)

Yesterday, we talked about how they wreak havoc on our metabolism.

And now, research reveals yet another harmful—perhaps LETHAL—effect of consuming them…

Serious as a heart attack

In a study published in The BMJ, researchers linked artificial sweetener consumption to an increased risk of poor cardiovascular and cerebrovascular health.

Researchers analyzed data from over 103,300 participants in France. And they looked at artificial sweetener intake from all dietary sources.

The most consumed sweeteners included: aspartame, acesulfame potassium, and sucralose. Other less consumed sweeteners included: cyclamates and saccharin.

Results showed that, over an average 9-years’ worth of follow up–compared to non-consumers—artificial sweetener intake was associated with an increased risk of:

  • heart attack
  • angioplasty
  • stroke
  • transient ischemic attack (TIA)
  • heart disease

And I don’t have to tell you how serious these medical events are. Some are downright debilitating, if not deadly.

Worse yet, this study found that consuming equivalent to just one alternative sugar packet a day could put you in harm’s way… and that’s less than one can of soda.

You can’t have your cake and eat it too

Of course, it comes to no surprise to me that artificial sweeteners impact heart and cerebrovascular health.

After all, study after study reveals they do exactly what we don’t want them to do… from increasing insulin levels to risk of obesity, hypertension, and more.

But this study is especially important because it included artificial sweetener intake from both food and drinks. (Other studies tend to focus on beverages alone.)

And remember—there are an awful lot of artificial sweeteners in things we consume daily… from yogurt, desserts, toothpaste, gum… the list goes on and on.

Now, we’ve all heard the message to eliminate sugar from our diets… but that doesn’t mean you should ever turn to artificialsweeteners. Instead, we should learn to control our need for sweet!

I outline a three-step protocol to help you do just that in the August 2022 issue of my monthly newsletter, Logical Health Alternatives (“Cut your DEADLY sugar addiction in THREE DAYS”). Not yet a subscriber? No problem—click here to become one!

Until next time,
