Yesterday we talked about how chemistry propels us forward in some ways…
While threatening our very existence in others.
I also highlighted a study that shows the “chemistry-cancer” connection is real.
So, let’s continue the conversation…
Is it worth it?
Folks, we’re caught in a bit of a conundrum here.
Chemicals are necessary to ensure food for the masses.
And while I always encourage you to pay attention to the quality of your food, the reality is—organic food production is not able to sustain the planet.
But it’s all a huge health gamble.
Do we just turn a blind eye and allow unthinkable amounts of chemicals to be used on crops? Chemicals, like pesticides, that are likely carcinogenic?
Because remember, the more we’re exposed—quantity- and length-wise—the higher our disease risk.
And while not everyone will get cancer—some are more vulnerable than others for reasons we don’t fully understand just yet—is that a risk we’re willing to take?
Important questions
Allow me to share some of my own thoughts on the subject…
- What about subsidizing organic food production?
- Incentivizing farmers to switch their practices—including chemicals used?
- Encouraging younger people to farm in a safer way?
Oh, I know why not. Because Big Agribusiness is subsidized to the tune of billions of dollars each year.
Why would they give up that gravy train? Just so people can live healthier lives?
You know the answer.
But when do we start demanding healthier (and more affordable) options?
These are tough questions. But we have to ask ourselves what sacrifices we’re willing to make before we see real change.
After all, know what these chemicals are doing in our food supply?
Research shows they can damage our own DNA! They contribute to oxidative stress—a dangerous process that contributes to aging and chronic disease. And much more.
As such, I outline how you can make your voice heard—and how to start protecting yourself from these chemicals—in the September 2019 issue of my monthly newsletter, Logical Health Alternatives.
