Many types of cancer, including colon cancer, keep such a low profile, they don’t cause any noticeable symptoms until it’s far too late.
That’s why I’ve always dreamt of a simple, accurate, low-cost, routine blood test that would help with early detection. (You know how much I love blood testing!)
Well, that dream may finally be turning into a reality…
Late last year, U.S. researchers developed a highly sensitive blood test that can detect a tell-tale protein produced by cancer cells called LINE-1 ORF1p.1 It accurately picks up on the presence of a variety of cancers—including ovarian, gastroesophageal, and colorectal—at their earliest stages, when they’re most curable.
The researchers say they hope this test will one day become a part of your routine blood workup. And I quite agree.
Of course, that’s still a long way off—more research needs to trickle in. But I’ll make sure to keep you posted on any news-worthy updates about this exciting, on-the-horizon LINE-1 blood test—right here in my newsletter, or in my free Reality Health Check e-letter.
