With all of the red meat controversy lately, I thought I’d take the bull by the horns.
I’ve said it before—mainstream media headlines can be wildly misleading.
And I’ve never wavered on this: Red meat can (and should) be part of a healthy diet.
That’s why, today, I’m sharing one of my favorite recipes using red meat.
I hope you’ll give it a try this weekend!
Try my A-List Diet-approved meatballs
This is my very own recipe for chia seed meatballs.
Here are the ingredients you’ll need:
- 8 ounces of grass-fed ground beef
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 garlic clove (minced)
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herb seasoning
- 1 teaspoon coarse sea salt
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 2 teaspoons avocado oil
And here’s the best part… this recipe is completed in just a few simple steps.
First, mix all the ingredients (except the avocado oil) in a large bowl. Let the mixture rest for 10 minutes before shaping into four meatballs.
Next, heat the oil in a small stainless-steel skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs to the skillet and cook until brown on all sides, about 4 to 6 minutes.
Then, enjoy!
Enough confusion—just enjoy REAL food
There will always be noise over what constitutes a healthy diet.
And let’s not forget the endless buzzwords flooding the market, adding to the chaos and confusion.
But as I always report, eating a balanced diet is quite simple. Fresh, whole foods will always be far superior to sweets, refined grains, fried food, and processed meat.
And the easiest way to follow this type of diet is to shop the perimeter of a grocery store, hit up a local farm stand, or find a farmer’s market.
Bottom line? Don’t let misleading headlines turn you away from enjoying unprocessed red meat. Additionally, organic poultry, wild-caught fish and seafood, organic, seasonal produce, and healthy fats from nuts, seeds, eggs, and more should also be part of your balanced diet.
