The missing link for real prostate relief

What is it with prostate advice? It’s wishy-washy at best — and downright maddening at worst. Especially when it comes to supplements.

First saw palmetto is “the” answer. Then, suddenly, research says its worthless. In fact, just the other day, I saw an article in the New York Daily News with the ominous-sounding headline “What you need to know before taking saw palmetto.”

As usual, the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

You see, while saw palmetto can do a stellar job helping to support normal prostate size and function, there’s more to the symptoms you’re probably experiencing than just your prostate. The bladder can also be a substantial source of discomfort for many men with so-called “prostate” issues.

For many men, as they age and their prostate swells, it becomes increasingly important to support bladder and urinary tract health as well. A swollen prostate can press on the bladder and urinary tract and compromise their health and function; creating discomfort, increased urges and difficulty urinating.

And yet, most popular prostate supplements completely ignore this important aspect. Which is even more frustrating when you consider there’s an amazingly simple solution.

For years, even the mainstream has recognized the potential of one natural fruit extract for keeping the urinary tract healthy in women. I’m talking, of course, about cranberry.

In fact, I don’t know anyone who hasn’t heard the recommendation that women should drink cranberry juice to help the urinary tract. But I have yet to find a man (aside from my own patients) who’s using cranberry for his own urinary health.

This is a real shame. Because not only is cranberry the simplest solution out there… it’s also one of the most effective.

Cranberries, like other berries, are a rich source of beneficial phytonutrients. But cranberries in particular appear to have additional properties that make it ideal for urinary health — in women AND men.

Studies show cranberry has the unique ability to help keep unwanted microbes from sticking to the urinary tract wall. While at the same time, providing added antioxidant support. And these benefits apply to both genders.

In fact, a 2010 study published in The British Journal of Nutrition looked specifically at supplementation with dried cranberries in men. In this study, 42 participants received either 1,500 mg of dried powdered cranberries per day for six months, or no cranberry treatment at all.

At the end of the study, in contrast to the control group, the patients using the cranberry powder showed statistically significant improvement in the International Prostate Symptom Score, rate of urine flow, average flow, total volume and post-void residual urine volume.

And emerging research is also exploring the role of cranberry in helping to promote healthy cell growth, which is another added bonus for overall prostate health.

So if you’re not taking cranberry to support your prostate, I highly recommend adding it to your current regimen. I just have one caveat: Despite what you might hear from mainstream sources, cranberry juice is NOT the best way to reap the urinary health benefits of cranberries. The fact is, most cranberry juices are jam packed with sugar — especially the bottles of “cranberry juice cocktail” you see on supermarket shelves. And sugar is probably the worst thing for your urinary health (and your health in general, for that matter).

You’re much better off opting for the same form of cranberry used in the study I mentioned above: powdered cranberry extract.

You can look for a standalone cranberry supplement and add it to your current regimen. Or you can look for a formula that combines it with other proven prostate supporters. Unfortunately, they’re not all that easy to find.

Which is why I made sure my ProLogic formula contains a full 1,000 mg of powdered cranberry extract. It’s a bit less than the dose used in the study, but I find it’s enough to offer significant support, particularly when combined with the other ingredients in ProLogic, which include saw palmetto, beta-sitosterol, stinging nettle, Pygeum Africanum, green tea extract, and, of course, lycopene, zinc, and folic acid.

All of these ingredients have been studied for their role in prostate health, and they provide a solid foundation for any prostate support formula. In fact, you may already be taking some them.

But probably not with the results you could be getting from a single, comprehensive daily formula like ProLogic. Because once again, there’s a lot more to “taking a leak” than your prostate.

No matter what you’ve tried before, or how frustrated you have been, with this new game changer on your side you’ll finally enjoy optimal prostate health and fewer urgent trips to the bathroom — day and night. You can learn more about ProLogic by clicking here.
