The real cost of those “free” flu shots

It’s that time of year again!

The leaves are starting to change color… The mornings are crisp and cool… And flu shot propaganda is popping up everywhere you look.

The mainstream medicine “powers that be” are so desperate for people to get a flu shot, they’re even giving them away for free!

Look, I love a good bargain as much as the next guy, but this is one “deal” you’re better off not taking.

The fact is, last year’s vaccine was only 25 percent effective against the strain that caused the majority of flu cases — influenza A.

That’s just 1 in 4 people who got any benefit from getting the shot.

Is there any other treatment you can think of that’s practically forced onto people wherever they go? All for a dismal 25 percent effectiveness rate?

Maybe the lack of effectiveness wouldn’t be so bad if getting the vaccine was as risk-free as they say it is. But it’s not…

Some people experience life-threatening allergic reactions to the flu shot. Some even come down with symptoms of the flu itself. At the very least, you end up with a really sore arm for a few days… all for a vaccine that only works 25 percent of the time.

I never get a flu shot — and most of my patients don’t either. Believe it or not, people with intact immune systems can survive the season fairly well without so much as a sniffle. So I choose to focus my resources and attention there. On strategies I know work.

My flu-proofing plan is simple. In fact, I outlined them a few weeks ago. So before you pop in to your local pharmacy’s “free flu shot clinic,” take a minute and review the simple steps that actually DO work to protect you from the flu.
