You’re rubbing plastic into your skin—every single day

I’ve been sounding the alarm on plastics for a long time—especially the small, insidious microplastics and nanoplastics.

Every year, over 460 million metric tons of plastic are produced. And as you know, none of it ever truly disappears.

Plus, those tiny plastic particles don’t just come from breakdown—they’re intentionally added to personal care products, from your face wash to your sunscreen.

When will it stop? And what can you do about it?

An intentional source of exposure

This isn’t the first time I’ve warned you that microplastics are everywhere.

They’re in the air we breathe, the water we drink, and yes—even the personal care products that we use.

But that last point deserves a closer look—because it’s an intentional source of exposure.

See, manufacturers add microplastics to improve texture, performance, and shelf life.

For example:

  • Microbeads are added to scrubs, body washes, and even toothpaste for exfoliation.
  • Thickening agents are included to help products spread more smoothly.
  • Synthetic polymers are used to create a waterproof barrier.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Over 500 microplastic ingredients are used in cosmetics and skincare alone.

The good news is, research is finally catching up—proving how harmful plastic really is.

All the while plastic production is projected to TRIPLE by 2060. (And yes, Big Pharma has a hand in this—go figure.)

Reduce your exposure—starting TODAY

Plastics are full of chemical additives linked to countless health issues—from atopic dermatitis (I can’t tell you how many patients develop this with no clear cause), to hormonal imbalances, and much more.

And let’s not forget that there are more than 16,000 plastic chemicals in existence. Plus, at least 5,000 are KNOWN to be hazardous to human and environmental health.

Here’s the really scary part: Many have never been studied for safety.

That’s why I’m urging you to take back control.

After all, these chemicals are everywhere—but you CAN reduce your exposure.

The first step? Be intentional about what you put on your body. I do this myself—and I encourage all of you to do the same.

  • Will your products feel different? Yes.
  • Will you miss that luxurious lather? Maybe.
  • Will your body thank you for ditching harmful chemicals? Absolutely.

At the end of the day, knowing that you aren’t intentionally slathering chemicals all over your body is a WIN.

Your health—and the health of future generations—depends on it.
