Debunking the controversies surrounding the COVID-19 vaccines

I’ve always considered it my duty to champion the truth in medicineAnd hopefully, as a reader of mine, that’s something you have come to expect from me. So when I came across a recent article filled with inconsistencies and dishonesties about the COVID-19 vaccines, I knew I had to address it.

This article appeared on a website called Conservative Republicans of Texas News, which should be your first red flag, pardon the pun. (I have stated here before how disappointed I am with the way this pandemic has been politicized. Because truthfully, whatever political affiliation you happen to identify with, there are certain things that should concern every American regarding COVID-19.

The article was written by Steven Hotze, M.D.—a doctor who runs a wellness clinic in Houston and has been a loud voice of COVID denial since the beginning. So really, nothing about this latest offering is surprising.

But it is wildly inaccurate, which is why I’m speaking out today. After all, I don’t want anyone operating under some of these same outrageous misconceptions.

So, today, let’s look at some of the worst claims this article madeand set the record straight

A deep dive into vaccination misconceptions

False Statement #1: The so-called COVID-19 vaccine is not a vaccine at all.  It is an experimental gene therapy.

Let me be clear here: These vaccines are not gene therapy. They do absolutely nothing to your genetic code.

Ratherthe mRNA component of the COVID-19 vaccine “teaches the immune system to recognize the spike proteins of the COVID-19 virus. This step is crucial in the development of antibodies against coronavirus. But it never enters the part of the cell which contains our DNA.

In other words, genes play no part in this sequence of events, nor are they altered by it in any way—and therefore, our DNA is not affected.

False Statement #2: This so-called COVID-19 vaccine does not provide the individuals who receive the vaccine with immunity to COVID-19, nor does it prevent the transmission of this disease. That is why it is a deceptive trade practice, under 15 U.S. Code, Section 41 of the Federal Trade Commission, for pharmaceutical companies who are producing this experimental gene therapy, to claim that this is a vaccine.”

First and foremost, let me repeat: This is not experimental gene therapySecondly, the pharmaceutical companies never claimed their vaccine provides complete immunity to the virus. And they really don’t have to in order to be effective.

The vaccines enable the immune system to recognize the virus quicker than it ordinarily would without vaccination. This ensures a faster response from our bodies, which helps protect us from serious illness, hospitalization, and death

As for the claim that it is in violation of law because it is “mislabeled” as a vaccine, I’ll point out that the term itself is a general one, and these actually are new types of vaccines.

When my patients express concern about this new type of vaccine, I pick up my iPhone and ask them if they have ever upgraded or downloaded a new version of their smartphone’s operating system. The answer, reliably, is a resounding “yes

So, allow me to make this a quick comparison. There are ongoing concerns about the safety of cell phones, yet most everyone still has oneAnd the fact is, many of us are quick to adopt any new technology—yet we’re skeptical toward some pretty advanced and astonishing science where this vaccine is concerned.

To which I ask, where is the rationale behind that behavior?

This pandemic is very serious businessresponsible for taking more than half a million American lives since it reached our shores a year ago now. If there was ever a time to set doubts aside and do the right thing, that time is now

But as long as misconceptions fly around out there, attempting to scare the public away from one of the most essential avenues toward recovery, I fear that we’ll all continue to needlessly suffer. Which I why I’m urging you to look at the actual science. Educate yourself about the virus itself and the vaccine, and help us reach that light at the end of the tunnel we all so yearn for. (The good news is, you already have a head start as a Reality Health Check and Logical Health Alternatives reader.)

And be sure to tune back in tomorrow, where Ill continue busting some of the myths I read in this horrid article.
