(makes one 9-inch pie crust)
1 cup macadamia nuts (or, alternatively, almonds), toasted
1/2 cup miller’s bran
1/4 cup lo-han or other sugar substitute
6 tablespoons macadamia nut oil
Preheat the oven to 350 °F. Put the nuts on a cookie sheet and toast for about 5 minutes or until just slightly brown. Put the nuts, bran, sugar substitute, and oil into a food processor. Pulse until everything is crumbled together. Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch pie pan and bake it for 10 to 12 minutes until lightly browned. Remove it from the oven, add your pie fillings, and bake according to the pie recipe’s instructions.
