Big Food is killing us slowly? (Don’t indulge)

Our food supply is horrible. And it seems to get worse with each passing year.

After all, the powers-that-be are greedy. Who cares if their plans destroy our health and, in turn, our lives—as long as they have a steady paycheck… right?

While there’s nothing more satisfying to me than informing you about these dangerous injustices, when will enough be enough?

Here’s why we need to put an end to this, once and for all…

The emulsifier-cancer link

This isn’t the first time I’ve explained just how tainted our food supply is.

Those “foods” that line grocery store shelves are full of artificial ingredients, preservatives, pesticides, and more.

But today, I want to talk about emulsifiers.

Emulsifiers are added to foods to keep certain ingredients from separating. And they’re among the most widely used additive in our food supply.

Well, a recent study found an association between the consumption of certain emulsifiers and an increased risk for cancer—especially, breast and prostate cancer.

The study came out of France where, surprisingly, ultra-processed foods constitute around 30 percent of caloric intake. (Keep in mind that number skyrockets to about 73 percent here in the U.S.)

In this cohort, from the NutriNet-Sante study, cancer risk increased alongside higher consumption of products containing the following emulsifiers:

  • Carrageenans (E407)
  • Mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids (E471)
  • Pectins (E440)
  • Sodium carbonate (E500)

More specifically, the highest consumption of E471 was associated with a 15 percent increased risk for ALL cancer types, a 24 percent bump for breast cancer risk, and a 46 percent heightened risk for prostate cancer.

Plus, the greatest consumption of E407 was linked to a 28 percent increased risk for breast cancer.

Vastly dangerous—for no good reason!

Let’s quickly take a step back…

Other studies have linked diets rich in ultra-processed foods to an increased risk for:

  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Diabetes
  • Obesity
  • Death

And now, we’re seeing how one of the most widely used food additives—emulsifiers—can heighten one of the most dreaded diagnoses of all… cancer?

This, after science has already found these agents alter the gut microbiome and lead to low-grade inflammation? Two things that are the root cause of most diseases, including cancer?

These additives are intended to improve the texture and shelf life of foods. But, why? Why do foods have to survive a zombie apocalypse? (I guess we wouldn’t have shows like The Walking Dead without these foods, but I digress.)

I can’t urge you enough to avoid these foods. I predict that one day we will be able to blame the sad state of our health—and perhaps the craziness the world is experiencing at the moment—on the poisons in our food supply that we consume on a very regular basis.

But let me be clear: Emulsifiers are NOT necessary components in our food supply. You can, and most certainly SHOULD, live without them. They’re only in our food supply to make things cheap and addictive… don’t fall prey to this horrible scheme!

Instead, join me in enjoying a nutrient-dense, whole foods diet—like my very own A-List Diet. It really just entails shopping the perimeter of any grocery store, your town’s farmer’s market, or a local farm stand.

Fill your shopping bags—and therefore, your diet—with grass-fed and -finished meat, organic poultry, wild-caught fish and seafood, organic produce, and healthy fats from macadamia nuts, avocados, seeds, eggs, and more.
